Rap legend Nas has joined the recent list of celebrities, which includes The-Dream and Russell Simmons, who have come to the defense of actress Gwyneth Paltrow after she tweeted the n-word during a Jay-Z/Kanye West concert while referencing their hit song “Ni**as in Paris.” The Oscar-winning star has faced a considerable backlash for her use of the polarizing racial slur.

“I would slap the sh*t out of somebody for Gwyneth Paltrow,” Nas said in his most recent interview withAtlanta’s CBS affiliate. “She’s the homie, she’s cool. Gwyneth gets a pass. Real people get a pass. We know what this sh*t is.”

This ‘pass’ the Nas references suggests that certain white people who are seen as worthy are granted the right or ability to use the word freely because they are not seen as using the word in a discriminating manner, but more as a term of endearment. Nas does acknowledge that some blacks may disagree with him, but he stands by his statement.

“Some might not feel the same way,” he said. “Some of us will get angrier about it than others; but some people get a pass. The people that I know who are cool and real ni**as, Gwyneth Paltrow is a real *****, that’s my homie. That’s how I’m on it. Some people get a pass.”

    - I'm not surprised, after all his boss' name is Jay-Z. Jay is good friends with Paltrow, obviously and i think they even live next door to each other down in Tribeca, along with Dinero and his, well, it is what it is.....

    So whatelse could nas say!

Drink this cup of 'heart' and stop asking me how long i was seeing your baby mama and let me enjoy the rest of the show....

Yo, thanks for signing me to Dej jam and helping to keep some $$ in my pocket. You know my 2nd baby mama took me to the cleaners during our divorce.

    she looks hideous......

I think she's with Jay more than her own husband.....

So in short, expect to hear a verse about all the noise people are making about her comments in one of jay-z's next songs defending her.

I really don't understand Nas. Hes wrote some of most insightful tracks and never fails to articulate himself. On the flip side, he comes across so ignorant in interviews or when he makes comments off of tracks. It just contradicts everything hes put out in his music.

Who is he to give people a free pass? A negro ambassador. If she was tweeting the name of a song then people should have some common sense it isn't even worth making a fuss over forget all this free pass business.
