NAACP leader and civil rights activist outed as WHITE by her parents who say she's been pretending to be black for years

    [IMG][IMG]

An NAACP leader's parents have made a startling revelation: their daughter, for years a highly
visible civil rights activist in Eastern Washington, is white.

Rachel Dolezal, Spokane's NAACP Chapter President and part-time Africana Studies professor at
Eastern Washington University, has been misleading people about her ethnicity for years, her
    parents say.

Her mother even offered photographic proof. While today the 37-year-old divorcee currently sports
tight, dark curls, her mom Ruthanne Dolezal showed KREM photos of the fair and freckled blonde
    daughter she once knew.

Dolezal is now facing a city ethics probe after she identified herself as black in an application to
serve on a local police ombudsman commission - a position she secured.

For years some blacks who could have passed for white......"passing" - (good movie "The Human Stain")
This is not a justification of what she did but still the NAACP in the beginning had white members in position of leadership.
No One who was not black, wanted to be black in S Africa until the overthrow of Apartheid.
In short people will do what it takes to get where or what they want.

She Misrepresented herself and so I think that maybe grounds enough to fire her from the NAACP.
    Should she be Fired?

I will leave that up to her organization as whether or not she should be fired.
However, I think that all that she is doing, she could do as a self identified
white woman. I think there are still white members in the naacp, so I don't
    get her with said pretense.

If the decision whether or not to fire her was entirely up to you regardless of the rules of the organization in question based on what you know and understand about the situation.....would you fire her?

    Why or why not?

Outside of the naacp, because I don't
    care much for that organization.
Another organization, something like the noi,
and it was to find out she was white, she'd be gone
yesterday. If she's faking about that, then I have to
wonder about her motive. Is She a mole, an informant?

    What about you?

You still haven't really answered the question.....yes or no - should she be fired? why or why not.

No....She should stay on pending on investigation of her actions while in office.
If it has been found that she has worked in some way contrary to the spirit of the office she held, then she should be fired. If not then she should finish her her term and apply again.

It is the best I can do given how I feel about the naacp.
Because I can not see myself working for the naacp.
