    Pissed off at the NAACP
    It's history tarnished
    Like oxenated brass
    Like the strength of steel
    Weakened by rust
    I'm losing faith
    I'm losing trust

    Obsessed by the Confederate Flag
    What it means
    Where it flies
    Like most of history
    That flag is real
    It tells no lies
    Move on

    For us
    Things could be finer
    In South Carolina
Energy used on protesting the flag
    Could be much better spent
    Finding out why
    Black kids test scores lag

    Black teenage pregnancy
    Black unemployment
    All sky high
Is the NAACP asking the questions
Are they demanding to know why
The flag thing is small patatoes
There are bigger fish to fry

    Boycotting South Carolina
    A noble idea
But for all the wrong reasons
    In fact
    Things are still the same
    Including the tourist beach season

    So what is the point?
    Get off the flag trip
Deal with real and meaningful issues
Relevant to today and the future
    Not historical ********

I appreciate your call to consciousness. NAACP (still mad at the "CP" my **** self) needs to take the blinders off and discover and HANDLE the real state of Black People, nationwide. As usual, the journalist in you comes through.

    Thank you for sharing!

    Bravo!!!

Preach On!! Preach On!! That's exactly what I'm talking about. Everybody's tripping over the petty stuff while the big stuff is slipping right through there fingers...and as for the NAACP...I'm not fond of them myself... Since I found a job fair they was having posted in the AJC and they told me i had to be 21 just to go...like i have no experience in the field, when i got my BS in CIS at the age of 20...if they didn't want inexperience people to go they should have said..with a background of such and such number of years of experience...I'm sorry..I'm sounding a little upset right now. That really offended. Discrimination...NO matter what. In the end..NO one can win to tell you the truth. Oh well..I didn't need them to get a job anyway.

Why of course...I am one who handles my own...the thing was it was a JOB fair...they limited my options by turning me away. Because the position with one of the companies that was at the JOB Fair that the NAACP was having...I was qualified for. But because of my age difference...I couldn't even go and see if I was even qualified. That's all..but its all good. I figure...It would have probably been a waste of my time anyway. My best jobs were not found at a job fair. But then again none of them were...Oh well.

    And what you said:
THE MIRROR IS A POWERFUL ASSET TO GET WHAT YOU WANT IN LIFE.

    Now ain't that the truth!!!

This piece is timely. Man, I've been following the madness going on in South Carolina and it remains BEYOND me, why our 'organizations' take the simpleton issues and blow them out of proportion. You mention test scores, teen pregnancies, employment rates ~ all of much greater importance for the 'advancement' of 'colonized' people.

    Straight language BE. Thank you.

    nice informational piece

if you really think about NOBODY really gets it
most organization or people deal with the superficial

if you paid me $75,000 a year
fly that flag all you want

but pay me minimum wage for 14hr workday
    and they complain about flags
    then we got a problem

yes NAACP deal with some real problems
but like everything else in America
    money dictates the process
