    Your brown shoulders
    I remember--
    out loud
    your shrug of
    laughter~

    Low laughter
    Shaken slow
    from your brown shoulders

    Hazel-nut lights in your
    asking eyes

    Red ruins in the changing
    sunset embers
    I take you
    and pile high
    the memories

    Tonight...
    As my head knocks
    against the stars
    and my fingers play with
    the pebbles of destiny
    You'll ask me
    unaswerable
    questions
