there is a gathering at ground zero.
the unsettled dust refuses to change
or give way. they say they are tired of things
    never clearing, neither remaining quite
    the same, of death, eroded...
dying to be reborn, of rock,
    blowing over withered hands-- praying
for eternal rest. whereas even I expected
    the beautiful monuments to remain
standing. the gust of morning cool winds
must have been ecstacy for the burning
hot rocks and cement slates. yet they admit there
is nothing more painful than crumbling and crashing
many stories down; toppling to the ground.
they insist that their breakage to ruins is a
prolonged suffering. they say they will never
be the same again. i have come to convey
the mortars message. soot from the fire has left
them in pebbled pieces; brittle. the dust does
not wish to continue its cyclical sacrement. they wish
to remain only the dust of once solid rocks and
unchanging remnants. i have told them everything
has a reason. they refuse to listen and insist that
i have my own disposition and that i am biased
because I was made in the image of the CREATOR --
they were only built to symbolize americas economic power.
they say that I am the problem, and so they throw
    stones at me.

    Neak Neak~

    Sup sistah....

Glad 2 see you readin' & creepin' up on us on the poetry boardz again!

This piece is a bit different ... I'm speaking of the TWIN TOWERS, as they have crumbled down back to earth and how the mortar (broken rocks and/or concrete) convey a message of its own ~as you know the rocks, pebbles of sand are in absolute silence and have turned into the dust blowing over everything ... these buildings (monuments)were too tall and very vulnerable at the height that they were ... it's as though the buildings are blaming us for building them and now that they have collapsed, they are throwing stones ... at me, at us .... a form of saying "I told you so!"

    Thanks for the read ma!
