abe freed us from being slaves...
but no matter how sarcastically I speak
    we speak massuhs talk like

    nig...ga
    my nig...ga
    that nig...ga
    tha's my nig...ga
    nig...ga
    nig...ga
    nig...ga

    rappers
    actors
    activist
    comedians
    the
    comman man
    and sister
    and MISTER man
    have laced their tongues
    with this syphilitic word

we enslave ourselves to self hatred
    through a sickening creative process
    of mental regress of
making a word that has raped us for
    decades into
    a finely knitted COTTON sweater
    that chokes us
    makes our chocolate skin itch
    until we break out
    and scream

    "YO nig...ga"

    sometimes over basslines to
    define our blackness

(and ******* be gettin' crazy paid
by screamin' some hate **** fa shizzle)

and no matter how sarcastically i speak
I don't hate but rather debate about how
this word equates to my peoples existence
and with prayer and persistence some of my folks
    will begin to distance themselves
    from this sickness

sometimes i wish all blackfolks could
actually go back and live the life of
a runaway slave and hear in the midst/
between the trees / cutting the wind and piercing the
    soul with fear/

    "We gon' get you nig...gur"

from a slave master bent on your enslavement

maybe some folks would be cured,

    maybe some would be caught...

    caught up minds
create ways to make the mind feel good
by dipping the WORD in a ghetto confection
to make it taste a little sweeter...

how 'bout **** on a stick wrapped in
black licorice? (at least that **** is healthier
    for you)

but even though I may sound a little sarcastic
that word is too caustic to let ride by
without shooting it right between the eyes

and if abe really freed us
(but conscious minds know that ain't true)
then why can't we free ourselves from that word

    nig...ga?

It touches my ever evolving soul to know that my words have reached out to more positive mindsets.

    Thank you for understanding.
Together we can break the trend
Of calling one another that word that begins with "N"
until we exchange thoughts again, my brotherman.
    Peace!

    don't call me *****
    cause that's not my name
    i don't care if it's your slang
    dont' call me *****

how can one call someeone of their own race *****
i know you think tymes have changed
but nto that much...not enugg 2 erase all the pain
in which our ancestors had 2 endure
the word's meaning is still the same
and when you speaketh from one black brotha
    or sistah 2 anotha
it does what it's alwayz done..it starts 2 degrade
    your character, your self-respect..
it destroys the essence that make you U
it destroys the essence of your soul

    don't call me *****
    cause that's not my name
don't care if it's ur slang
    dont' call me *****

diggin ur read...u were readin my mind...dat wuz part of one i wrote a while ago.....

    this is great

i dont agree with you though

but that doesnt take anything from this

making a word that has raped us for
    decades into
    a finely knitted COTTON sweater
    that chokes us

    that was my fav part
