"Dear Santa," authors my 6 year old, "Is there war at the North Pole?" Thoughtful, sensitive and aware of the world around him he conscientously cares. I've raised a child who isn't full of the gimmies, reminded grownups yesterday that, "In two days it's baby Jesus' birthday." He gets what I get and a lot that I don't he looks with innocence as these thoughts are provoked. In stores we wander aisle after aisle while he looks to spend gift cards received he informs he heard there are kids without toys he heard about this girl and this boy. He puts a Barbie in our basket, a coloring book too crayons and two hats a airbrush kit too three tech decks and a snowsuit a pair of boots and a bat, he overspent but I know where his head is at. at the register the lady asks if these are all for him My wee lil one produced a smile and a nod and with a tip of his head he smiled and said "Ma'am, it feels so much better to give than to receive. These toys are for those in need." My sons are all that I need.
