In my revolution
The war will not be fought in the street
But rather the court and boardrooms of this land
That is where my soldiers will compete
Buying power
Voting power
Educated Black Warriors
Familiar with the enemy
Toe to toe
With a handshake and smile
That is how my revolution will be
Organized violence
Archaic at best
In my revolution
No blood will be shed
Using the enemy’s laws, rules and methods
We’ll attack from every angle
We’ll get inside his head
I don’t want to see my brother die
I’d rather he educate himself
To care for his children
He must clothe and feed
Why fight the kind of war we cannot win
It makes no sense
There is no need
The length of my revolution
May be measured in lifetimes
But we will win this non-violent fight
Not as the result of military might
But because our fight is just
Because as a people
We are right
