My position
I gave to him
I gave to them
And what exactly did I get
Am I the only one that remembers
Seems they tend to forget
The time I spent
The hand I lent
Whether it be love or labor
What happen to returning the favor
I ain’t got much
But what I do got I share
But I gets none in return is that really fair
You live and you learn
Each time I get burned
Above and beyond was my reputation
Maybe I’m expecting to much gratification
I’ll be his friend
Nothing more
Nothing less
I’ll do my job
Greet and seat my guest
I’ll answer the phone
If he calls
If I’m able
And if we’re busy
I’ll help bus the tables
Sticking to the friend position
Sticking to my job description

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Real Truth!

My Position...should belong to quite a few
