The Afrikan traditional concept of a husband having more than one wife?

Personally, Me as an Afrikan male would never go for that. I believe that a man should be commited to one woman. He should give his unconditional and emotional love to only one woman. He also should create life with one woman.

    But what do yall think?

i also agree a man should build on the love and respect
of one woman mentally and spiritually be loyal and committed
to her needs emotionally and have true unconditional love for
    this wife ........

a man who bare wifes is not a cheater but adultry befounded
of life which wholes no respect but this happens and is today
    still going on

how can one rule with host of false love surrounding the plans
of kingdom and breaking one of the ten commanments

Thou shall not commit adultry upon thou mate

these are men which lone to hold power ................just my view

If I'm not mistaken, the original reason for a man having more than one wife was, if a brotha or relative died by warfare, disease or a sudden mishap. like killed by a lion or crocodile. THe woman would become part of the family of the surviving male relative.

    With all due respect Sekhemu....

If my brotha was killed, his wife would still be of the family but I would not marry her. While I value Afrikan tradition, there are some concepts I disagree with.

With all due to respect to you as well my brother... I did not say whether or not I agreed with the practice, I simply wrote what I understood to be the original underlining reason for the pratice. As it was carried out by some of our ancestors?

Woman was made for man, not women, so every man to one woman and every woman to one man, from what I understand.:)

Though in Scriptures, many did marry multiple wives, understanding was not had by them the same way it is given to this generation.
