My party, unfortunately, is the bastion of those people -- not all of them, but most of them -- who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that's despicable.

Speaking of despicable:
The in the above reminds me of something I've learned sometime after pres. obama was elected.
That there were officers in the military soon to retire that were asking/looking for retirement 'certificates' with the prior commander and chief's signature on the bottom. And I'm like nmad, is it that serious? Then another thought had occured at the time, that these officers, a number of them, will get jobs as subvervisors or managers of that many of us will work/apply for. I get it, these folks don't like the idea of their president not looking like 'them', but to the extreme that you feel in necessary to retire with a piece of paper with the name of someone who is no longer president? I mean...why not find a certificate with andrew jackson's name on it...

Now these cats are trippin' over powell giving his support for pres. obama claiming that it is because he is black. I would say to them, prove it.
