My soul’s well has run dry
There is nothing at the bottom but dried, crusted ink
My pen broken
My fingers numb
I can only think
Internalizing internal things
Personalizing the most personal
Yet unable to express expressions

A phase perhaps
A time to reflect on reflections of life
A test of emotional restraint
Am I smart enough to just think?
Man enough to admit I am void of inspiration?
Can’t imagine not writing about imaginations
What is left for the mind to do
When the soul isn’t playing its part

I know better
I know how everything works
Mind, heart, body and soul
Together a beautiful thing
But three out of the four are tired
Needing rest
Needing time and space
Gone

We’ll see how smart I really am
As my mind tries life all alone

The four essential elements that make us whole do have reserves...but if they become dangerously close to being exhausted, just like all well run systems, one or two will carry the load. If your heart is failing, and your body and spirit are low on fuel, your mind is strong enough, and you are man enough to know when you've had enough. Just give yourself time enough...
to rest, to think.

And you are smart enough to know you're never alone.

I have read your words and felt your flow. I agree with T. If we are lacking in something other systems kick in, but I'm sure you have some soul in reserve, let it flood your well and repair your pen with inspiration, expressions and lots of imagination. And know I'll be here to drink from it.
