The inspiration for this poem was mary blige's song "my life"

I look down a shadowy place
And see this sad confused man
Someone is yelling for him to wake up
But he cant awake from pain that he gained

How can people tell him to forget the pain and suffering he's had
Does your life matter more based on your sex and the color of your skin
Where do you have the nerve to criticize my pain and make yours more important
The people who claim to love me have a cold way of showing it
Trying to make it out like my feelings is some **** sin

Come look into my life before you judge me
See the tragidies, see a heartbroken brother, son, man, and father
Try to get past your "image" of me you got of me in your head
I am a strong man even when you dont think that of me all together

If you looked in my life and I seen what I have saw
You would understand why I act the way I do
I say whats on my mind and if bothers you so be it
Then you are just like the rest of them too

No one likes to be judged, particularly when the entire story is yet to be told. I hear ya.
