I live here in a world
created by gigabytes
and RAM speeds

my block is defined by how
fast I can access information
at times transmit
emotions with itty bitty icons
that tell folks
how I'm feeling or how I feel
about them....

I live here on this internet
community with friendships
bonded by images on screens
that convey my
authenticity / my humanity

I come out of my house
to say "hello how ya doing"
"take care" and
"talk to you later"

even though I have not met
or talked to my friends...

fiber optics is magnificent
I can tell who is heaven sent or
just plain no good by the vibe
that travels from miles away
and looks at me from across
my monitor

I live here / I come here
everyday spend two
three maybe four hours
on end just to connect with you
in our absence /

sometimes it seems as if
I just sat down with my friends
the other day shooting the breeze
and chatting about "whatever"
over cold glasses of Faygo Redpop

and just talked until the street lights
came on and just like in our yesterdays
went on inside with the anticipation
of talking to you again tomorrow.

soon.
