My family hates I love words
Ask please, don't be a writer
    Don't batter, burn and serve
Our slip ups to total strangers
    Don't recite our laughter, losses
    To magazines, Destee, e-zines
Making folks think they know us
Whenever they see us with you
So feel free to impose their view
    Up our ears, unasked, unwanted
My family says don't write our life
    In retorical question, funny incident
Or accidents bathed in your mind
Until it burst forth naked, a rhyme
    So please, please don't expound
Don't put down how, why we click
Burn pages of what makes us tick
PLEASE, JUST DON'T BE A WRITER
BUT AS YOU CAN SEE,HERE I AM
    WORSHIPING THE WORDS, AGAIN

This is deep. I have a friend who published a book and lost a part of his family. Some people hold their privacy very valuable rather happy or sad. But if writing is your passion what's a person to do? I love to write. It can be so therapeutic at times. I would be unhappy if asked not to. This is a nice flo. Thanks for sharing.

this is really nice UL820 ... i don't write much but when i first started i wrote a peace about my son and bruh man was a tad bit offended that i'd "tell his business" ... .... oohhh my ... guess the challenge for the writer is to leave the reader wondering ... thus allowing the story to be told without anyone ever really knowing who it is about ... matter of fact, one poet said the ultimate is for each reader to think it's about them :)

see ya at da party ...

we gotta be who we be...

ain't no other way for me to be me.
when i was young, a young lady told me to be a man and stop acting like a kid--because of my writing--then she moved on. other people told me to stop doing what i do...then they moved on. through it all, my writing remains, after they're long gone.

    TRUE TO SELF.

    gotta be me.

    {SORRY FOR YOUR DRAMA...hope it gets better}
