    In the Spirit of Faith,

    Shame on the minister

Muslims in veils are like ‘American Negroes’ who supported slavery, French minister says

A French minister for women's rights is under fire for what critics describe as a doubly offensive comparison of Muslim women who wear head coverings to American slaves who she said supported their own subjugation ...

A sign on the Arc de Triomphe reads "Paris is Charlie" in solidarity with the victims of the shooting at the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in Paris, France, Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015. France's government urged the nation to remain vigilant Saturday, as thousands of security forces try to thwart new attacks and hunt down a suspected accomplice in a rampage by terrorists linked to al-Qaida in Yemen that scarred the nation and left 20 dead. I wonder why the minister would get the idea that slaves would desire slavery.
I do get the point that Middle East muslim women are property with severe consequences of death and mutilation if they dare break oppressive rules of all-male masters. Their veils, burkas, are chains of fabric they carry over their entire bodies, a severe loss of personal liberty. The question being perhaps they are too afraid of stoning, beatings, and having something hacked off to run away. And, there is no sympathetic people through out the Middle East helping them to escape. So they just endure and teach their daughters, this is the natural law and life of women, to accept it.

Excellent question, even after reading between the lines, I could never find a clue as to why she would make such a reference.

Right ... the French are somewhat racist toward Blacks, even though several of our entertainers found refuge there, thanks for that.
