Based on this article one can indeed argue tha the Original form of Islam was the way of Life of the 'westerners' who entered the Nile valley as the Green Sahara receeded and they took their way of life with them.

The problem is white people got Afrikans thinking that the Tehenu, Tamehu, etc were white people when indeed they were the earliest West Afrikans who spread to the north and east, not the other way around.
