MSG - The Slow Poisoning Of America
John Erb wondered if there could be an actual chemical causing the massive obesity epidemic. He was a research assistant at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, and spent years working for the government. He made an amazing discovery while going through scientific journals for a book he was writing called "The Slow Poisoning of America".
In hundreds of studies around the world, scientists were creating obese mice and rats to use in diet or diabetes test studies. No strain of rat or mice is naturally obese, so the scientists have to create them. They make these morbidly obese creatures by injecting them with MSG when they are first born. The MSG triples the amount of insulin the pancreas creates; causing rats (and humans?) to become obese. They even have a title for the fat rodents they create: "MSG-Treated Rats".

    slow poisoning...

how about that, and all this time i thought that being obese stemmed from one's inability to push away from the table.

Same difference. That's the mqin way this chemical gets into us, at the table. But, check it out, it is also present in some soaps, shampoos and other body and hair care products according to the Truth in Labeling Campaign.

    Understanding the FDA

A lot of us think the FDA is there to protect us from consuming harmfull foods and drugs. If you look at their decisions it's plain to see that's not what they are for at all.

They are there, like any other government agency, to protect the government's bottom line. Why else did they outlaw marijuana but not tobacco when smoking is known to cause cancer? But the tobacco industry brings in mad revenue for the government. Since marijuana can be grown almost anywhere that's a lot of tax money the government is not getting so they outlaw it,

The FDA knows companies hide MSG in our food yet they refuse to do anything about it.

As long as we buy something the FDA has no problem with it. Although we don't pay tax on food the industies we support pay income tax from their profits. Only when enough people are aware of this and raise a stink that threatens their bottom line will the FDA move to protect us. Meanwhile we must protect ourselves through knowledge and basically giving enough of a dayum about our own health to make some changes.
