    Mr. Dale Rodriquez Sr.
From the Series – The Battle between Good and Evil
    By Manasiac

They call you a deadbeat dad
A hustler who went to prison
And forgot the son he had

Hanging out with the pimps and crooks
Never realizing that with your transparent parenthood
Was also catastrophic to the road that your only child took

Of course I denied you paternity when you tried
Use to tell folks that my Daddy Died
Never really tried to write you back
I figured you was broke and could not offer me jack

They say to deny a man fatherhood
    Is like taking his life
I delighted in causing the unseen anguish
That haunted you because you could not raise me right

As I sit and think about my life
I realize that I had another father
Set to some Mephistopheles to others
    He is a grand phenom
Also know to you as Satan or Lucifer
To some he is Ori Buruku or Absonam

I decided one day to give up his ways
    And in doing so
    Respect to you I payed

I thank you for being there
    When you could be
It is hard for a mortal man
To raise the son of an evil deity

I guess this poem is my ode to you
To let you know that even though others consider you a failure
I see you as a man who has survived the pitfalls of life
Glad to see you alive and kicking
Not in the ground somewhere with me visiting at night

Mr. Dale Rodriquez Sr. in 2004 I wrote those words
    It is now 2007
    My life is banging
    The money is rolling
    I am in material heaven

    I got the XLR
    And when I roll
Women think I am a star

But as a sit on this beach alone
With a cold heart of stone
I realize that the money and fame
Still does not fill the empty void
Left by being raised in a dysfunctional home

I remember you asked me about being a father
    I politely replied
The souls of women I slaughter

My cold words sunk dip into your mind
I am sorry for hurting your feelings
    But being a family man
And you being a grandfather are not going to happen in this life of mine

Even though I think paternity is evil
That does not mean I am going to squander this day
    I love you Father
    Because without you
My Success will not be this way

    Mr. Dale Rodriquez Sr.
    Happy Fathers Day

    ....heavy :crying:

    a bittersweet melody

one thing I do know...is that memories may last

    but voids can be filled...

    Captivating work...

The way you flowed this one, taking us through the years, tears and fears, and then to the triumph, this was wonderfully done. In the end, it's better to deal with the reality, than to live in a fantasy.
