I don't care how many prayers you recite,
how many times you kneel or how many candles you light,
at the end of the day, the question remains the same
are you an asset or just another a**?

When was the last time you moved beyond the walls
of your church, temple, synagogue, or mosque
And actually did a geniunely empowering work
something that made a real true difference

What good is all your salvation and enligtment
If it is never used for your brother's upliftment
What is the point of all your supreme righteous
Without an sense of evolving consciousness

You can talk a good spiritual game all day
But you're just moving your lip making chatter...
Until the welfare of the people is your heart
Until then nothing else really matters

When will you move beyond mere doctrine and rhetoric?
For just a mere moment can you get your head
out of your quran, bible, torah, or metu neter
Long enough to hear the cries of the people

If you are not part of the solution
Then you are part of the problem
Either join in the fight to save the people
Or stop talking to me about your religion

What good is a RELIGION that heals none ?

Inspiring...and timely.

In the Spirit of Sankofa and Truth!

Moving beyond RELIGION...For sure

If you are not part of the solution
Then you are part of the problem

Yes asimplepoet,

This piece is consistent with the current trend and mantra of Black Conscious people today, attempting in a serious way, to bring unity among us by keeping focus upon the common enemy and not upon the focus of knowledge debates.

The trend is to stay away from in-fighting across belief systems and collectively do a work to empower ourselves. I like it and will probably seek to use this in the future, with your permission...Peace In my sister friend.
