    AFTER YOU FINISH
    RAPING ME

    MAYBE WE CAN MAKE LOVE

I’M DIGGIN MY NAILS DEEP INTO YOUR SKIN
TRYING TO GET TO YOUR SOUL

    YOU CONVINCE YOURSELF
    AND TRY TO CONVINCE ME
    THAT THIS IS LOVE MAKING
    AT ITS BEST

    BUT AFTER LIFETIMES OF EXPERIENCE
    I KNOW RAPE

    MY TEARS OF SO-CALLED JOY
ARE REALLY TEARS OF SO-REAL PAIN

    I’M CALLING TO GOD
    TO TELL ME WHY?!?!

    I AM BLESSED AND CURSED
    TO BE A WOMAN

WERE IT NOT FOR THIS CAVITY BETWEEN MY LEGS, THESE LUMPS ON MY CHEST, AND THIS BUMP ON MY BACKSIDE

    I’D BE YOUR SIMPLE SERVANT

    BEING THE EXPERIENCED RAPE VICTIM
I’M USED TO MAKING THE BEST OF THIS SO-CALLED ‘NORMAL’ SITUATION

    WHILE YOU’RE DEVALUING ME
    AND VALUING YOURSELF

    I’M IN DREAMLAND
    DREAMING OF LOVE

TRYING TO CONVINCE MYSELF THAT IT’S NOT RAPE
SUBCONSCIOUSLY MURMURING ‘NO’; INSTINCTIVELY YELLING THE ****!

    MY PAIN TURNING YOU ON
    SO YOU INFLICT MORE

YOU BRAG AND BOAST YOUR CRIMES TO THE WORLD

    INSTEAD OF PUNISHMENT
YOU RECEIVE TOP DOLLAR AND PRAISE
    NOT TO MENTION FOLLOWERS

    FOR A SPLIT MILLISECOND
I CAN SEE IN HER EYES
THAT SHE’S A RAPE VICTIM ALSO

BUT SHE’S **** NEAR LOST HER MIND ALREADY
AND JUST SAYS, “**** IT”, LITERALLY

IT’S NOT SO EASY TO WALK BY IGNORING
    YOUR TAUNTS AND SUGGESTIONS
MAYBE WERE I DEAF AND/OR BLIND
BUT THEN, I WOULDN’T SEE NOR HEAR MY ATTACKER COMING
    NOW WOULD I?

SOMETIMES I CHOOSE TO CLOSE MY EYES
SOMETIMES I LEAVE ‘EM WIDE OPEN
BUT BEST BELIEVE ALL THE TIME
    I’M THINKING AND KNOWING

    THIS IS RAPE

    I CAN PRETEND IT’S LOVE

    BUT IT’S RAPE

I CAN WISH IT WERE LOVE

    BUT IT’S RAPE

YOU CAN PRETEND THAT IT’S LOVE

    BUT IT IS RAPE

WHEN I LOOK INTO YOUR EYES
    I COME TO REALIZE
THAT YOU KNOW THAT IT’S RAPE; YOU KNOW THAT IT’S WRONG

YOU EITHER INTEND THIS TO BE SO
OR YOU DON’T KNOW HOW TO LOVE

    YOU’RE LOST IN HELL
ENJOYING THE FIRE; WATCHING ME BURN IN YOUR PLACE

    YOU’RE LOST IN HELL
ENJOYING THE FIRE; WATCHING YOUR MOTHERS BURN IN YOUR PLACE

THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL PROTECTION?

SO I SUPPOSEDLY BROUGHT IT UPON MYSELF; LETTING YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE LUMPS AND BUMPS THAT YOU ALREADY KNOW ARE THERE?!?!

    TEMPTATIONS A MOTHER****er AIN’T IT?
    “**** IT”, YOU SAY, LITERALLY

    WE LAUGH AS SHE'S RAPED

    WE BUY RAPE

    WE ENCOURAGE RAPE

    WE ACCEPT RAPE

    NEVER ACCEPT RAPE OVER LOVE

    "So Real So True"

    Well my Sister,
just let me say that I feel ya! and I know that I have said this before on the site, that being a product of rape and abuse as a child growing up, know one has the right to take anything from you that you don’t want to give whether it be your love, money time or your honey… It’s always a choice that you and you alone have to make. I have been blessed to help and encourage a lot of people from my pain, misfortunes and abuse in life if nothing more than my poetry my own spoken word I appreciate this piece and hope to see more poets and artist that have survived through these types of things to write about it. You be surprised how many people are touched and inspired by knowing that someone else could possibly feel there pain and to know that they are not alone... “Bravo” my sister. I also know that the poem could be taken under other pretense as well and not initially meaning that you were physically raped, but the fact of just being used in life in any light “It was a great piece”

    Be Blessed
    Queen

Hmmm, you want honest feedback? I read this...and I felt that I was getting it, but then i got lost, cause there were so many different analogies re: rape...but it still came across as a powerful piece...so maybe i got what i was supposed to anyway.
