I stepped out of my sandals
To walk in the damp grass
Moistened by the rains that
Appeared before the sunrise;

I faintly recall the rains as it
Played a soliloquy of peace
On my window pane extending
my rest a little while longer;

the breeze invaded my slumber,
gentle in its arrival yet strong
enough to calm the hot, humid
air of a typical summer’s night;

I remember the culmination of
The gentle breeze dancing with
The rains provided me a sleep
Unlike any of nights before;

I imagined the breeze sweeping
My fears and sadness onto a
Stream of raindrops rolling down
The alleyways of my heart;

Making way for the peace of the
Symphony of rain playing a Quiet
melody on the window Pane as I
rested in the midst of its song;

and as the morning arrived I awoke
to the blessing of a new day with
thoughts of hope and success on my
heart as today arrived with a rainbow;

as I stepped out into the meadow
I wondered how the world would
Feel if I took a walk without the
Covering of man made protection;

So…

I stepped out of my sandals
To walk in the damp grass
Moistened by the rains that
Appeared before the sunrise;
