Black Poetry : more words over here

I’m well rested and ready to start my day
but first I have some things to say
I got plenty of words but can back them up
there’s a lot of love swirling around in my cup
I’m efficient while not controlling
you can go fishing while I’m bowling
nothing in this affair is nefarious
and it’s nowhere near precarious
we can court one another like no others
become best friends and lifetime lovers
tighten our tether passed the flirt
so that my tummy doesn’t hurt

computer not a store to be foraged
my poetry sits there in storage
still I’ve shared with you my every word
thinking some feelings hidden is absurd
knowing you love my stuff is appealing
and your accolades give me a warm feeling
I will write haiku free verse rap or whatever
to ensure you enjoy a feeling of extreme pleasure

boy took me by surprise
by throwing glitter in my eyes
but let me make this understood
I hale from the suburbs not the hood
not a new skirt i’m old school
won’t suffer disrespect it aint cool
no matter how much i love you
that’s a recipe for disaster
definitely not what i’m after
why put the notion of infidelity in She head
while claiming you want her permanently in your bed
why can’t you stay focused
never serious always jokin
with my emotions always pokin
instead of using love for stroking
my ego maybe should stay to myself
keep my rap chapters on my own shelf
known as my paper note book
stuff them in my rolltop desk in the nook
there sometimes get breezy hoping
they don’t fly out of a window half open
well I’m just saying
a wise man in love would be praying
for clarity
hoping Him chick has charity
and will forgive his tomfoolery
on some things we can compromise
one of them is not some chick with yellow thighs
boy gotta pick and choose
or one of us you gone lose
chiefly that gonna be me
running off to sulk alone under a cherry tree

I am listening
also glistening
i would wink
but you already know what i think
and you done set the roof on fire
our love will never expire
ah you finally singing the right song
like Tyrese say, what took you so long
it’s gonna be such a pretty night
when i have you in my sight
my arms are eager to hold you all right
gonna lip lock and reminisce
i don’t really understand when you say reminisce
doesn’t matter as long as my lips get to kiss yours
