    MORE THAN A POET

    I am… no longer just a poet
    No longer just a writer
    I have become more…
More, than the author of words
    That I write,
    That I express,
    On paper.
    I have entered
    Into the state
Where I am no longer just writing my thoughts
I am no longer just writing about things for which I dream to occur.
I am no longer just writing for things I regret
    No,
    In turn,
I have begun to write myself.
I didn’t know that it was possible,
    Until it was.
    My life
    My heart
    My faith
    Started to enter
    My words.
    Without being aware,
I created myself into a poetic language
That could be put on paper.
That could be expressed so simply,
    And so clearly.
I was transformed into a spirit
That allowed itself to become written thoughts
    Allowed itself to be free.
It’s as if through my pen,
    I was preserving myself
    Preserving my legacy
For all to know and understand
    Me.
It came to the point where,
    when I read my thoughts
    I was reading me.
When I look at all I have written
    I was seeing me.
    I was confused at first
Confused about where this would take me
But it has transformed me into a deeper version
    Of who I am
And it has opened up boundaries
Boundaries that had prevented me from knowing who I will be.
And from letting go of the person I was.
I thank God every day for blessing me with this gift
    Because,
    Now,
My soul is entangled with my words.
I have evolved into what I write down
    My writing replaces my reflection
My writing is the improved me.

i liked the piece..and loved how you gave up the word "just"..
not "just a writer, or just a poet"
not just anything..you let that just go....
    and said I AM
    and......

    you are..you are..

    very nice...glad you shared....thank you

The paper is the venting space
The words from a soul untouched...

    Great piece!!

This was wonderful. It so nicely described that place we get to in our souls where the flow just drips from our innerbeings onto paper. I really enjoyed this.

    Poet...Poet...Poet

I was so endeared to this flow...
    diving deeply between each line
    not wanting to emerge...but to
continue to submerge for I feel
as you do about this gift...
it has guided me to the
    discovery of self...a much
    deeper, more reflective version...

    In poetry there is vision...
    Flow on poet...
    Loving your work!

THIS WAS A NICE DROP SO LET ME SAY IT LIKE THIS

This is plain raw rap you need chain saw chaps for your legs
Hardcore pledge MORE THAN A POET pours from kegs
In your mind like fountains flowing down mountains wet
Some how pride tough like cowhide which now provide a set
Of new meanings in poetry, look this mess anoints my stress points
Like oil and you lube me with your groove G so it best for joints
In my body, its formatted length is added strength to my foundation

    WHEW! KEEP DROPPING THIS
