It's that monster
Its that creature
It's the thing that won't go away
It's that something that even keeps
lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my...
at bay
It's the jagged razor
that tempts the suicidal to slice
searching for the vein of freedom
too frenzied to think twice
It's that final taste swallowed
of that last shot of gin
as the alcohol mixes with the blood
bubbling to a boil, bursting beneath the skin
Could be the buttons pushed, when just
the right words are put to use
A slap can sting, but heals long before
the pain of verbal abuse
It's the proverbial straw
that breaks the camel's back
It's what you just know will send you over the edge
cause of those coping skills you seem to lack
We all have those monsters...
those things that we just know
if they truly come to pass, we just won't
be able to deal with it....and so
What do we do when
that monster actually does appear?
What we do is...fight, you hear?
Fight
with every fiber of strength within
pulverizing what's feared
Until that horrific, terrifying monster
has virtually disappeared
And if that monster should
come back for round two
we'll laugh in it's face and ponder
hey, what's the worst it can do?
Not only can we defeat that gruesome beast
but any demon that dares to knock on our door
Monsters still exist after October, after all,
and for all the months that come before...
