    When father
    Wouldn’t bother
    Daddy you played
Thankful for the sacrifices you made
    I’m thankful for your discipline
    Even when I wasn’t listening
A young child hard headed and naïve
I thank you mother, queen, child of eve
I know I made it hard for you to believe
    hard for you to breathe
I had you on your knees
    Begging god please
I know I haven’t always put your mind or heart at ease
Out running the streets drinking and smoking trees

    But now that I’m older
I’ll never give you the cold shoulder
    I’ll never cause you stress
Make you feel like I could careless
    I love you
And appreciate all that you’ve done
the grandmother of my daughter and son
    The only one
Who sheltered me from the rain and the sun
Fed me when I could afford a crumb
Protected me without a knife or a gun
Without you there would be no me
    Your child for eternity
    I love you momma.

Your momma taught you well, what you couldn't see clearly at first, is now like crystal. There was love written all through this piece.

    Yes poet, beautiful write.

Even if I never knew the love of my own mother I feel this, and the feeling that lingers is a sweet bitterness. Big up for acknowledging your mothers vital presence and efforts.

    One.
