    Eyes
    Weakly searching for commonality
    within this cut throat economy
    Trying to fathom this tragedy
I see you, you see me

    We
    only glance
for if we stare too long
We'll see our own selves by chance
we look within trying to right this wrong

    Closing eyes
    praying Lord have mercy
    God have mercy on me
What ever I did, I'm sorry
What ever I didn't do, even sorrier still

    Blinking, quickly
    can't cry now
    What if it's too late
The tears won't matter any how
Could this actually be our fate?

    Blank stares
    are joined by
    clenched teeth and pursed lips
    I sigh, you sigh, we...sigh
And we all try to zone out
    Knowing that reality draws neigh

    The misery is clearly written
    over all of our faces
Hoping for bills to somehow fill empty pockets
And digits to write in checkbook's blank spaces
Somehow, we all have to believe
That from a wing and a prayer
from you, and you, and yes you over there
we shall be lifted, out of our despair

hope and faith is the only way
and we must force ourselves to always be practical.

True, we must have hope and faith, as well as being practical, but even those who are practical can end up in this fix, thank you for adding your voice to this piece daroc.

You see my pain, and I see your pain
Praying to be able to smile once again
Hoping that the end of this season is near
Plastering strength & courage over all the fear
Fear that the season end will come to late
And that we are destined for this fate

This was a heartfelt write and definitely understand where you coming from. And I too stand with prayer and hope as my weapons to overcome this seemingly neverending situation. But like it's been said this too shall pass. So patiently I wait.
