     :crying: :crying:

There she stood in front of the mirror
Smiling at herself while placing an extra dab of make-up over her eye
Suddenly something grabbed her pulling downwards
Then it let her go, pushing her in front of herself
So many bruises were covering her body
Physical bruises were there for all else to see

    Her mouth flew open
    Fear envelope her
Internally she was scared as well
    Turning her inside out
There were matching scar to each physical bruise

She stands looking at herself and rubs her fingers across her face
she now delicately fingers her right eye
That eye bored a black and blue bruise
    swollen, and half shut

She takes the palm of her hands trying to cover the mirror
painfully she is drawn back to look upon it once more
    She noticed the cuts
    Raw and Infected

Lifting up her T-shirt she looks at the bite marks
    Shaken she begins to cry
Crying out for someone to help her
She realize her looks were all gone
All that was left were bruises, cuts and inward scars

Without knowing, she let out a loud scream
    Running in place
She remain in front of the mirror
Hot tears falling down her face

She slowly sink in front of the mirror
    down, down, downnnnn she landed
Her mouth slanted to the side
Red covering the floor in which she once stood

His last loving beating he bestowed upon her
The mirror she held now shatter to the floor into tiny pieces
Scattering all her reflections of bruises, scars, and cuts.
Mixing with her blood covering the pieces.
She lays quietly in a body that was once beauty
Her lover stands over her baffled of her stillness.

The mirror of truth tells all. Your vivid descript words kept me glued, reading this sad tale too often told. Flow on.

    "...a loud scream
    running in place
she remains in front of the mirror"

    those lines really caught me...
sometimes we be seeing, and looking and seeing and looking
    and not moving..not going anywhere....
such emotional and rich learning lines
    inside this heartfelt piece...
