Black People : Min. Farrakhan - The Confederate & U.S. Flags

Farrakhan is still a fool, trying to make himself relevant after sqandering his potential influence following the successful Million Man March in the 1990s. We are the United States of America, American citizens, one nation, one people. We still have a long way to go before we become a nation that lives up to its ideas but we will move forward as a unified people--white, black, brown, yellow, red, etc., pausing only for a second to glance at an outdated relic like Farrakhan, who doesn't recognize (1) this isn't the 1960s and (2) his 15 minutes are up.

Having said all that, is farrakhan right or wrong?
Wrong. Black America shouldn't put down the flag. We are Americans and helped build this country, making it one of the most powerful countries in history. My father fought in World War II. When he died he received a 21-gun salute by retired soldiers who had never met him but wanted to acknowledge his service to this country. Family members sometime argue. That doesn't mean they're no longer family. We're an integral part of America and should therefore not put down the flag but raise the flag and respect what it stands for in principle if not always in practice.
