Mi Poesía es mi Rezó My poetry is prayer that’s why I script with a vengeance, & perform with conviction. I spit rhymes for the blind & sign for the deaf, Either way with my dying breath, the message that was sent will be felt to the depths, From my lips to God’s ears, the people of yesterday will recite these words ferverantly, and be empowered with a better today. Through the strains, stress, and pains, If a poem could fix all the problems of the world, I’d evoke it at dawn and keep reciting it earnestly until my voice was gone! If poetry is prayer then I hope I’ll spit a piece that will spontaneously combust when it hits the ear, When poets push pens, they do passionately, It ain't about the snaps & claps but devising a plan to help our people, educating by word of mouth. A prayer for our generation, A poem for the young lives taken, A prayer to stop the genocide, A poem for the refugees seeking asylum so they can thrive, A prayer that bloodthirsty tyrants are overthrown with rebellion, A poem for the humanitarians, pastors, & diplomats trying to rebuild through righteous missions. A poem for the unemployed, A prayer for the sexually & domestically abused whose lives have been destroyed. A poem to all the battles against teen pregnancy, STI’s, poverty, racism, lacking health care, we still have to fight at home. A prayer that crosses the seas and gives our troops strength to whether the storm. A poem that begs the world to actively stop global warming & to go green. A prayer that bi-partisan leadership will prevent more cataclysms like the ones we’ve seen. A poem to make mankind realize that we do not walk alone. A prayer that the masses heed the poetic prophets, seek God’s face while it can still be found. Whether it be by inked parchments, or chiseled tablets, If our poetry is truly our prayer, Then from all scrbys alike to you, We’ll be slammin for ya.
