How did you get ingrained into my soul ties?
Is what I can’t help but secretly wonder
As we are saying our final goodbyes
My mind takes me back yonder

When forever still meant till the end of time
And I love you was more then mere words
And loving you too much was my only crime
Before you and I had to draw our swords

I remember when you and I first became a we
And it seem if it was a sweet gift from above
Like we was swimming in a heavenly sea
Drenched in a new emotion called love

As days flew into months, and months into years
It seem that we were picture perfect and complete.
We flew into each day with no worries or fears
For we naively believe all obstacles were obsolete

I believe that you were my knight in shining amour
And that you would slay all the dragons for me
And you did kill all outward threats to my honor
But who knew my greatest threat would be thee

Some how you got bored with completeness
And went to go seek that which was perverse
Faithfully for a while I joined you in the madness
But I really wasn't raised to be that morally diverse

So I watch this new life suck you right in
With no idea how to save you from you
And that was the beginning of the end
For I refuse to stay and daily go through

Now I know the answer to my own question
For I can remember all the good that came before
Before you turned down this crazy road of destruction
And those are the memory that I'll carry forever more

Dedicated to my lost love
