    It came again today
in the early hours before that
    jaunt through traffic
I saw it reflected in mirror shards
    as I slung my canine
    across the room
    cage and all,
    Rage for me is all-
    encompassing
    its parameters so familiar
    yes...
    Its even comforting....
    "YOU COME WHEN I CALL !!! "
    got the ball rolling,
    no more room for control
    I fell ...falling
    no longer
    Mr. Nice Guy
    he died,
    enter Mr. Hyde
like death on a pale horse....
and God have mercy on those that
    attempt reason-
    during hurricane season,
seek refuge at your nearest shelter
    far from my intentions
    that swelter
    in the blistering heat
    of

    me.

    I am tired
    of

    me.

    especially now that
    I see...

    I have become

    my father.

    I remember
    as a youngster
    cringing
    as he
    would reach
    for my Ma'
I would pray for the courage
    to plunge knives,
I would pray till spittle formed
    for a
    grown man's strength-
so I could choke his neck
    till eyes bulging
    met death,
    sweat turned to blood
    burning my dreams
    cause if he would only
    die
    I could

    be
    free.

    But I'm

    still
    stuck

    with

    me.

    ***** !!!

There is so much soulful sadness in this piece. You bring courage to the written word poet..when you speak your reflections from out of dark places. This piece really moved me today.

I'm reading your words and seeing the picture you are painting, hearing the story you are telling...

if you know the way your father made you feel, then you also know how that same behaviour repeated will make someone else feel...the cycle can be broken...

I applaud you for your honesty with this piece..

the best revenge is to live well...
