To many knowledgable boxing fans, this will look like Floyd his ducking Margarito (who is considered the most avoided fighter in the welterweight division). However there is nothing wrong with Floyd wanting to promote himself. I fully agree with him that at this point, he doesn't need a promoter.

    Yeah, fellas...

I got the same feeling too as I read this article. But, I think it's a savvy move on Floyd's part. He can't allow mistakes at this point just to show people he's not scared to fight anyone. He has to be at his best. His opponents are too good for him not to be at his best. If he goes in with one hand against another very good boxer, he'd probably be in some trouble. And that's not smart to do that in this division.

I can't wait until he beats down Ricky Hatton though. And I hope he goes to the UK to do it. However, every brotha that's gone to Europe to fight has gotten WAXED. I hope the same doesn't happen to Floyd.

Floyd has made a very good business move here and I appreciate what he's doing and the way he's going it's a sign of a maturing Floyd Jr. to me......afraid of Margarito nah......but I know Floyd has delicate hands and he's right at this level of the game there's no reason to go into any fight half ready because everybody is gunning for him........That's a real step man to put his ego aside and not worry about what folk say and I commend him and his camp of cats whispering good advice to him.......
