Mask

You can cover your face
and try to hide, but what’s
inside does not lie

You can pretend that you
are really great and know
just what to do any time
any place

But your eyes you can’t
escape, they hold the truth
there your souls mate

You can fix up the outside
to be very special and
unique, but soon the wrapping
unravels, showing really
what’s inside and distinct

You see beauty comes from
within, and even if you lie
the truth transcends

You see no matter how you
play the game, disguising the
contents within, it will be
revealed my friend,

So don’t hesitate to be real
not fake, because the truth seeps
out like an open gate. All a person
has to do is wait.
