Law Forum : Martin Luther King's children battling over estate

And yet, they are still broke, greedy, needy? Like said, some things you just don't sell.

Yeah buddy! Its something wrong with this picture ...

David J. Garrow, a historian whose book "Bearing the Cross: Martin Luther King Jr. and the Southern Christian Leadership Conference" won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize, said he wasn't "surprised in the slightest" to hear about the latest fight among the King heirs.
"The agenda has always been greed," Garrow said. "It's been about maximizing the dollar value of Dr. King's legacy."
While their mother was alive, the King children had periods of not speaking to each other, but they mostly kept disagreements to themselves. After their mother died in January 2006, it was the oldest daughter, Yolanda, who held the siblings together. But when Yolanda died in May 2007, that glue was gone.

King daughter asks brothers to reconsider MLK sale

ATLANTA (AP) — The daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. on Thursday urged her brothers to search their consciences and reconsider their plan to sell the civil rights icon's Bible and Nobel Peace Prize.

Bernice on Thursday called on her brothers to hold another vote and said she hopes that at least one of them would change his vote.

"With God's help, I can only believe that the judge's ruling is not a setback but an opportunity for my brothers to step up to reason and do what their conscience tells them is right," she said.
