Black Relationships : Married @ First Sight

This reality show is a bit unorthodox and displays a different platform than "Love At First Sight" or "The Ultimatum" because perfect strangers are matched to one another based on their general traits and characteristics. Once the matches are decided, they are then notified that they will marry in 2 weeks, thereafter. Mind you this is without knowing anything about the other person. In other words, they are marrying a perfect (eg. in some cases not so perfect) stranger. After the wedding they go on a week long honeymoon. And then they go back to the realities of everyday life. The out is that if after 3 months each couple is not satisfied with the other -- they are told they can get a divorce.

Communication
Accountability

Intimacy & Romance
Companionship
Trust- Honesty
True Friendship & Respect
Selfless Giving
Growing Rather Than Falling In Love
Transparency

Full Disclosure
Patience
Fidelity
Understanding
Genuine Compatability

All play a part in their individual unions. The problem is they don't know each other. The initial carrot is the wedding dress, the tuxedo, and the rings. Of course, the men and women area the rabbits. IMHO this experiment only works if the people involved are emotionally, mentally, financially, and physically mature. From what Eye have noticed the majority of THEM are not! Eye can blame one gender or the other for the failures that ensue. However, it appears that the men shut down first. Many of the women make a stabbing attempt to commit to the hash tags relationship, smh.

It is not my place to say these people are desperate nor is it my place to say they don't deserve the happiness that being married is supposed to bring. Eye do think, however, that they are more in love with the idea of being married rather than they are in love with the idea of working to keep the marriage together. It's a day to day process of hard work and many of them failure at the attempt. Many come into the union with hidden agendas...

Thanks for sharing Sister! I've never seen this show, but can't imagine it was created with hopes of actually ending in beautiful loving marriages for strangers! :eeek: ... it's probably more that it was created for the ride to the end ... dramatic, edge of your seat moments ... :tv1:

Would you go on a show like this Sister? ...

Loving Us!

Nope! Never would Eye ever trust anyone instincts over my own intuitions!

Dear Destee:

This social experiment is staged purely for entertainment with a toxic mix of incompatibility thrown in for good measure.

Trusting a so-called expert to quik fix ones inability to find a mate is rather weak because it takes time to get to know someone.

These so-called experts come off like they are relationship experts:

--they don't probe into the psyche of each candidate relationship histories, emotional readiness, life goals, or their commitment to an authentic marriage

--they overlook the importance of physical attraction --a compotent that seals a psychological need

--they match based upon their own subjectives likes instead of what the subject would like

--they don't do strong background checks

A. The bait is a flashy wedding and a glamous honeymoon.

B. The success rate is only 20% as couples soon discover fatal faults in their mates once they say, "I do" and open their mouths long enough to unleash unthinkable insults at the person they claim they are gettng to know

C. Eye am watching from the outside so Eye see their negative body language and hear the contradictory remarks that spring from their forked tongues. (eg. BUT MAYBE EYE HAVE AN EDGE BECAUSE EYE STUDIED PSYCHOLOGY IN COLLEGE AND UNDERSTAND JOHARI'S 4 QUADRANTS).

D. Sometimes, there is a lack of physical chemistry between couples

E. Other times there is a lack of mental compatibility between couples

F. And then theres the pink elephant in the room --a lack of emotional acuity between the couples

In conclusion -- human behavior is not an exact science and only scratches the surface of the human psyche. Periodt.

LOL, Eye can't wait for Season 19!

❤️ Love, Fine

Eye thought Michelle was petty for nit picking about Davids living arrangementd with his parents.

The experiment last for 2 months. All the couples are placed in a neutral living situation which does give them time to discuss future living arrangements.

She spirts on about how hard she has worked- yet she is not in a house and her apartment is not that spectacular (eg. Emems' townhouse looks much better by comparison).

David even said her apartment looked simple. This remark did her in. It's his way of seeing thru her fake 'I am doing so much better than you facade'.

In episode 6, Eye already detection some built in insecurities in Michelle...
