Black Spirituality Religion : Marriage to Spirits - Vodou

One sister of mine was diagnosed with cancer and a open sore on her nose that would not heal for 2 years. She went into the djevo last November. Her sore closed completely as soon as she left the djevo. Two weeks later, she had tests done and the doctors said she had no evidence of cancer present. That's amazing! :) Give your sister my regards. Oh yeah, I heard recently that Creflo Dollar has denounced the prosperity gospel. Can you confirm? ;) Now don't ask me how our posts got combined, because I haven't the slightist idea! :(

I have no idea how the posts got combined. In regards to Creflo Dollar, I don't know. I don't follow Christianity and its subscribers to know what is going on.

Wow! I think your dreams are so amazing. I wish I was that in tune with those that came before me. Have you always had dreams like that? I also think it's wonderful that you are now in the process of restoring what rightly belongs to you and your family. :)
.

I think we all have that connection to the ancestors. We just have to seek them. Yes. I have always had dreams like that although it does come with periods of no messages.

I agree Blackbird. Giving Ngangas or Orisa pots (Ikoko) to the uninitiated is extremely dangerous and patently irresponsible.

What many people don't realize is these traditions are real and very powerful. As a practitioner, I bet the things you know and/or seen would probably destroy most people's concept of reality in a heartbeat.

Thanks for your reply. I've been doing some meditation recently and praying for my ancestors to bring me knowledge and wisdom.
On topic of your marriage to an lwa, what was one of the first things that happened when you were approached by one in marriage? did you suddenly start having dreams? were they very descriptive? were you promised a very good life for obeying the lwa? how long did it take for good things to manifest into your life?

sorry if I asked too many questions and I will understand if you do not want to answer them.

I would also welcome any advice or suggestions on how to ignite some spiritual communication. I feel like I have a lot of deep spiritual questions about myself, my lineage, and my destiny. Yet, I do not really know how to go about getting the answers to such. Thanks again. :)

I think it is awesome that you are reconnecting with your ancestors. I trust that they will guide you and show the direction you need to go in life.

The lwa came to me in dreams with the message. The dreams were not really descriptive but analysis of them revealed what the lwa were requesting.

In my first dream, I dreamt I was walking on a beach shore and this very beautiful woman with long black hair, who seemed stuck up, aloof and very much into herself, approached me. I mean she was beautiful like drop dead model type gorgeous and she was constantly combing her hair. She started talking to me as if she knew me. She asked, "What do you give someone you love?" I begin to reply with various answers like flowers, candy, clothes, jewelry, etc. However, none seemed to suffice. Without her saying so in the dream, I felt like none of my answers were good enough because the person already had those things. This was the lwa Lasiren. She is very wealthy and already has every physical thing the world can offer. What Lasiren wanted from me was marriage. This dream was 9 years ago. She promised an exclusive, very upscale and very wealthy life for me and my family but I must have a beach vacation house.

Last year, I had a second dream. In this dream, I dreamt that I had a personal altar dedicated to a certain lwa in my bedroom. The altar was a dresser with a mirror attached and it had a few ritual objects on it - all things given to this lwa. The dresser spun backwards for a moment and then spun back facing me. Half of the objects I had placed on the altar were gone as if the lwa had accepted them. This lwa Mestress Ezili Freda Daome. In Vodou, one is to never have an altar set up for the lwa in their bedroom, especially not one for Freda. For a man to have a dream about an altar devoted to Freda in his bedroom is a sign that she is requesting marriage. Freda promised me a life of luxury and command but she must be lavishly attended to.

Several months later, I requested the lwa Ezili Danto's hand in marriage to help me to achieve a goal. She accepted my request and told me that from then until my last breath she would be with me every step of the way. Danto promised me protection from my enemies, more opportunities to prosper and uncanny business success but I must always support women in their endeavors, protect them and treat them with the respect and reverence that they are entitled to.

However, the way it works with marriage to the lwa is if a man marries Freda, he automatically has to marry Danto and vice versa. The reason for this is these two lwa do not get along and have had epic battles in the past so they are very jealous of each other. If a man marries one without ever marrying the other, he made a fatal error and his life will be very difficult and chaotic.

So yes, I was promised the undying protection, love and support from these 3 lwa. They operate like any spouse would or should - they got your back. I have been truly blessed by the lwa beyond my wildest dreams so far but this has not been due to marriage. Ayibobo! I love my spirits in general. I am not married to any of lwa yet. I am still engaged. Actually because I have taken so long to honor their requests, my "good" fortune has taken a noticeable dip. This is their way of saying I am dragging my feet and they will not wait for too much longer.

Spiritual communication eh? I would suggest that you talk with your folks as much as you can. Show a definite interest in them and they will surely return it. Perhaps have a feast for them and invite them to come. If you do... cook foods that spirit guides you to do or foods that an ancestor may have liked in life. Just don't use in the salt during preparing, cooking or seasoning the food. No salt at all. Everything else is up to you and your creativity. I have a definite protocol and shrine formation that I would to be very effective, but that was given to me by my folks. Your folks may like it or may need more or may need less. Ask your people what would they like or need for you to communicate better with them and have a deeper relationship.

PS: I don't agree with everything that the writer of articles in links have to say but it is a good start to learning more about 3 very important female lwa. Like in my house, Freda is not white. She is from Daome in Africa.
