Black Poetry : Mama's Apology (the ultimate sacrifice)

(Inspired by a trip to the slave dungeons in Ghana,West Africa)

My darling baby girl
My precious little boy
Please forgive me for what i'm about to do
i can't express how much i truly love u
The greatest joys in my life have been because of u
That's why i cant let u suffer
the things that i've gone through
i felt tranquility as i held u in my womb
all the while knowing that when u are born
u would suffer too soon
Cause they can't see the splendor and beauty that is u
To them u are profit and they'll treat u like a tool
I can't bear to see our family separated
I can't bear to see them looking at u
with hatred burning in their eyes
and anger in their hearts
when u brighten my world
Before u living was cold, lonely and dark
But the instant i picture the smiles
of my lovely girl and boy
My world is overflowing with insumountable joy
So please forgive me for what i'm about to do
And understand how much i truly love u
Cause before u'll be enslaved
u'll be barried in u'r grave
And go home to u'r Creator and be FREE
So Please forgive me
