someplace dreams are made of
Occupation
student, advocate to change the world
mama
stood tall when
i was short
she was cold
when i would melt
she blew refreshing breezes--
reminding I of who I was and
where I came from...
mama resonated--
like echoes i hear--
continual-ly
she
was all i ever needed to be that
strong black man everyone talks about
that seems never to exist

mama was never less than a mountain for me--
and as a man

i must become my own.

(i love you ma.)
