Malinda Sapp was the wife of gospel singer local pastor Marvin Sapp. The funeral was held at the Resurrection Life Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and there wasn't a dry eye in the room.

It included performances by her husband, Marvin Sapp and several other prominent gospel singers.

The service lasted four hours and included tributes by Rev. Jesse Jackson, Kirk Franklin and 2,000 mourners. Malinda Sapp was a professor and psychologist. In addition, she served as the Administrative Pastor at Lighthouse Full Life Center Church.

She passed away on September 9 from colon cancer, which she had been struggling with for the past 18-months. This amazing woman leaves behind her husband Pastor Marvin Sapp and their three children, Marvin II, Mikaila, and Madisson. The family has designated memorial contributions to: Grand Rapids Ellington Academy of Arts & Technology c/o Mercantile Bank of Michigan 4860 Broadmoor Ave. SE Grand Rapids, MI 49512.
