Perry uses his standard pat comedy formula. I'm sorry, I found few laughs and little original in this tale. It only makes me more perplexed as to why 'Birth of a Nation' didn't do much better

Simple: Tyler Perry has a following that he has cultivated over the years. Nate hasn't developed that type of following...and he brought drama to the table. I understand the message in "Birth of a Nation," but not everyone is receptive to yet another slavery story...as important as it is.

The only people that call it that obviously didn't see the film.

If Perry doesn't deviate from his formula, he will soon be gone with the wind

But "Birth of a Nation's" slow start has nothing to do with Mo'dea; there will always be other movies to contend with. For those people making conscious minded movies, they will still have to sell them to the public...if they want them to be seen.

My point was that it seems people made a choice based on erroneous information
