there is a space for one
along the shores of possibilites
formed from her wishes
molded by her anticipation;

i await for her here
along the road of destiny
looking to and fro'
for this beauty to appear;

i carry for her a blanket
made of silken hopes and
woolen dreams to cover
her heart from the past;

I hold for her libations of
summer dreams and winter
smiles to quench her thirst
for fall’s reflections of spring;

I await her here as I caution
my desire not to wander onto
the path of impatience as
I seek her arrival in dreams;

yet I stand looking
into the distance where
the road's parallels seem
to converge and make a point

thumbing to hitch a ride
to forever I decline several
offers to take me to where
I want to go but the driver
is not she

who can calm these waves
caused by absence of the hand
that can take me into a tomorrow
where the sun does not set

where the mind engages in
debates about how she will
please me and I her/she
is only a mirage painted by
the passing of vacant time

and my dial is not working
because the clouds of she
not "be" ing has swallowed
the illumination of the sun
