I stand amidst the ruins and rubble
of a destruction built for two
even in the haze and fog of
what must be war and wonder why
I still hear and feel the rumbling
thunders of wrong thump and throng
the earth around me relentlessly
filling my senses with it's violence
understanding God's intentions
of love's house being rebuilt
I consider the current atmosphere
the entended design
and am puzzled at the notion of
what blocks like bricks to build with
even the material of such building blocks
and from the limits of my mind's eye
this does not look like a place
nor a time for building
I think "love"...
well I need truth and honesty
to mix and mold the bricks to hold such love
and communication and devotion for
mortar to bind such bricks together
I would need character and courage
for the design
and all the odds and ends in between
and it seems critical to me
that such a house needs two to rebuild
yet all there is I see is me
and God as the everpresent foundation
so yet again in faith I feel through
the haze for the first blocks to lay
and guess I leave the rest to God...
