    we wuz gonna be supastars
wid poofy hair and painted red lips
    sashayin our hips
    across the stage
    while the world worshipped
at our feet and the drumbeat
    matched our heartbeat
    and sent us higher
    and we thought we reigned
we wuz Queens in our own right
    dreaming expensive dreams
    wid danglin hoop earrings
    and trinkets and things
    spendin imaginary millions
    the Rock Man promised us
and all we had to do wuz choose

    we wuz gonna be Supastars
    but the light burnt out
    and the night turned cold
    heat flashed around us
    suffocatin me teasin me
    forcin me from my spot
    hidin underneath the flesh
of my sister while the cameras rolled
    Rock Man shook the hand
    of Mr Big Shot Man
    his skeletal grin stretched tight
    across his face
    the Blu Boys came
    and they tok her away
    slapped me in chains

    we wuz gonna be free
    from agony and tranquility
    would flow through our souls
but the peace i got looked not like the piece i sought
    of the amerikan dream
    my sister is dust
    and me a former shell
    of the Raising Hel
    Queen i used to be
    the streetlights come on
    thats my cue to be
the supastar i never wished to be

Thanks. I felt like I needed to get the point across to some of my sisters who are running out of time.

This is a nice way to remind others to follow their dreams. Your never to old to be a star. Reach for the heavens and see how far. You can go, have fun on the way. But never say :bye: or give up on a dream. I enjoyed reading this.

This hit like a hammer, sometimes what the light reveals isn't what you thought would be in the spotlight. Very well written poet.
