LORD I’M NOT REALLY HERE

My smile is rejected
My image reflects greed
My soul is torn like moth eaten clothes never worn
My tears run over
My body is tired from turning over in my sleep

Lord I’m not really here

I believe I was not made for this world
I feel like nothing good will ever happen for me
I died the moment I tried to reach out to so many

My feet are stained from the blood of my heart
My soul has been snatched
I can no longer run with the evidence of unhappiness
My presence wasn’t smart
A misused heart

I’ve never asked for anything
But, tonight I need you to show me a light to my destiny
The path where good spirits roam free
Where love is a necessity

Lord, if you can’t give me a sign
And my prayer was too small to complete,
I was never here lord
So please!, please set me free
