When music was about creative blends and moods, vocals, lyrics, and just a feel good experience.

Loose Ends tapped into some Herbie Hancock/Bootsy Collins funk when they were putting these down.

I can appreciate some "rappers" that attempted to reach into the jazz ensemble as it represents one of the purest forms of creative expressions through music.

Last Poets, Guru, Common Sense, and more recently Wale.

Between Loose Ends, Brand New Heavies, and Soul II Soul, we had and still have a good collection of historical goodness when it comes to modern "Soul" music.
