i search for your voice
driving down I95
the leaves browning now

 

storm clouds overhead
rain plays leaves like drums, your voice
silent as the stars

 

the moon skips a beat
your voice calling my name
from behind the stars

 

listening between
the consonants in your words
for the sound of love

 

your voice black and mild
a lost dove reaches the sky
no clouds in her way

 

blessings to Black Men
who can hear the sound of Love
when the wind's silent

Forest from trees hard to see
