Men & Women, what are the chemicals in relaxers, texturizers, etc., that cause the hair to lighten, especially in the sunlight? Is it the weakness of the hair after the process?

My hair (natural) gets brownish on the ends when it's damaged. I don't know why.

    Blackeyes......

O.K., my hair is a natural dark brown/off black.....As I began to put chemicals in it, it became a reddish tint.

My hair gets a little browner if I use a relaxer.

As far as weakening the hair, I believe it does which is why I prefer to use it sparingly.
