Back when you got up early on Saturday to watch cartoons
And the only thing you had to worry about was keeping your room clean
When your curfew was the same time as the streetlights came on
Spending your whole allowance on candy
Eating it till you were sick
Hide and seek, freeze tag, and four square was part of the day’s itinerary
Before SAT’s and full time jobs
When you could watch tv all day long
Fraggle Rock, Scooby Doo,
Transformers, Zoobilee Zoo,
When you could tell anybody how to get to Sesame Street
And G.I. Joe had you tryin to figure out what the other half of the battle was
Wayyyyyyy before you really had any real responsibilities
Other than looking out for your little brother or sister
When Michael Jackson still looked like Michael Jackson
You climbed trees without the thought of ruining your clothes
And your hair held so many bows that you could hardly hold your head up
When you’d eat a mud pie with out a second thought
Your British Knights were worn with more than one pair of slouch socks
And it took you two months to get your Members Only jacket
Are those Bugle Boy jeans you were wearing
Your first kiss that would ignite feelings that you had never felt before
Back when love was pure
And friendships were too
New Edition concerts
When Vanilla Ice still thought he was still cool
And don’t try and act like you didn’t rock those MC Hammer pants
Tellin your friends you were Too Legit to Quit
A time when life was so easy
But you were in too much of a rush to grow to be able to enjoy them
The days that are now just fading memories
Days that I will always cherish
