    In dreamstate I roamed
    underground passages
    and unreal paths
    through twisted labyrinths
    where your laughter echoed and
    your smile was faster
    than I
    could run...

    In degrees
    tenseness increased
where even the trees seemed to cringe
and bend with the wind of your leaves
    leaving me ...
    waving elusive
    the long blades of grass
    I passed through for clues
    cause I knew
    in my sleeping heart
    there would be evidence
    of not only you
    but

    me too...

    so I searched
    through the words
    of your relatives
    and the posture of
    your grandmother
told me things I can't quite remember
at the side of her bed
    I wanted her to promise
me ..that I was the only one
    her daughter's daughter
    would ever love
    but those ancient eyes
    made no such promise
    and I don't know why
    but I
    wished she was alive
so I could go see if her
    all-knowing smile
    was a lie...

    walk up those dream steps
    to slide
    across those squeaky floorboards
you used to run and fall down on
    somehow ingratiate myself
    with the history of you
    lock into that dusty air
    catching sunlight
    and freeze time
across the lines in your forehead
    and erase the reason
    for them becoming
    so permanent...

    Im chasing this vision
    of your back turned
    till the surroundings
    turned to nothing but
    math on a page
    the tunnel echoing
    desperation and rage
the foul water at my foot
    reflecting
    connecting
    my sudden awakening
back to the first words I ever really heard
    you say...

your soulprint still echo's across places
    I can't name ...
    the words of your people
    still remain
    sustained somewhere inside me
    replaying in pain...
    twelve hours since I slept
    and I still
    feel insane...
